Challenge Limus Pro 38mm HTLR Handmade Tubeless-ready Cyclocross Tire

The Limus, a dedicated mud conditions tire for cyclocross from Challenge, now comes in a new, 38mm wide version. The 38mm version of the Limus is ideal for bigger, more aggressive riders in wet and muddy conditions in 'cross races where the 33mm tire width rules are not enforced.
The updated Limus 38mm uses the new HTLR (handmade, tubeless-ready) casing. This is a high-end option for cyclocross racers who prefer to race on tubeless instead of tubulars.
Deep, aggressive knobs
The deep, aggressive knobs feature plenty of space between the knobs to allow mud to clear instead of packing up. Amazing grip on off-cambers or steep inclines. This is the same tread pattern that won 4 gold medals at the 2018 cyclocross World Championships - a proven design that works in mud and wet.
Super Poly Casing
The 38mm Limus Pro features the supple Super Polyester casing and Smart Compound rubber.
PPS Puncture Protection Strip
The Limus 38mm HTLR features a special fabric between the tire casing and tread, reducing the risk of punctures and preventing race-ending flat tires.
Meets ISO, ETRTO standards, plus hookless compatible
The HTLR line from Challenge is hookless compatible and meets the new ETRTO and ISO tubeless standards. Challenge tubeless-ready tires can be mounted with or without inner tubes.
When used tubeless, a liquid tire sealant is needed (Challenge's own SMART tubeless sealant recommended, or use popular sealants from Stan's NoTubes, Orange Seal and similar)
Don't mount Challenge tires on wheels/rims that don't meet ISO or ETRTO standards.
- Folding Aramid bead
- Black tread with tan sidewalls for that classic "look"
- 300 TPI Superpoly casing
Maximum tire width rules in cyclocross races
Most Elite cyclocross races (think professional-level Superprestige, World Cup; and some National Championships) impose a tire width limit of 33mm, but most local race series held at the amateur level have no such limits, allowing riders to ride tires like the 38mm Baby Limus. Bikerumor.com says: "If you’re riding a very bumpy course with lumpy grass sections, you’d love the 38mm suspension-like feel."
