Challenge Flandrien Team Edition Handmade Tubeless-Ready HTLR Cyclocross Tire

.Challenge rocked the cyclocross world with the introduction of the new Flandrien tread pattern, and now it's newly available in the Team Edition HTLR (handmade, tubeless-ready) casing - one of the finest tires available today for riders racing on tubeless in wet and mud. The Flandrien is the first Challenge cyclocross tire designed with World Champion, Tom Pidcock.

Who should choose the Flandrien?

Flandrien is named in honor of the riders who thrive in the changing conditions mid-winter. The Flandrien sits in between the Baby Limus and the Grifo: faster rolling than a pure mud tire like the Limus, but still plenty of grip in the wet and mixed conditions. This is a high-end, tubeless-ready tire for enthusiast cyclocross riders who want a supple, top-performing tubeless tire for wet and muddy conditions without resorting to a slower-rolling, pure mud tire like the Limus. 

"Team Edition" Red Sidewalls

The Flandrien HTLR features distinctive red sidewalls that are impossible to miss on the race course. Previously, the red sidewalls were only available on tires given to sponsored athletes, but they're now available to the general public.

Flandrien tread pattern, with new 320 TPI casing

This tire mates the new Flandrien tread pattern you're already familiar with to a new corespun cotton casing. Featuring a high thread count 320 TPI, it's Challenge's most supple and low rolling resistance tubeless tire for cyclocross.

To protect the new handmade cotton casing, Challenge has applied a special bead-to-bead waterproof coating - helping to extend tire life and appearance, even on bikes that are frequently pressure washed in difficult conditions.

Meets cyclocross tire width rules

As with the other Challenge HTLR cyclocross tires, the new Flandrien Team Edition is designed to meet the UCI and USAC tire width rules (maximum 33mm wide tires) when used with rims with internal width of up to 23mm.

PPS Puncture Protection Strip

No one wants a race-ending flat tire. The HTLR Team line, including the Flandrien Team, is equipped with Challenge PPS - a special fabric placed in between the tire casing and tread that reduces the risk of a race-ending puncture.

S "Soft" Tread

The Flandrien Team Edition HTLR uses a softer rubber durometer compared to traditional tires, yielding extra grip and performance.

Meets ISO, ETRTO standards, plus hookless compatible

The HTLR line from Challenge meets the new ETRTO and ISO tubeless standards, and is also hookless compatible. 

Challenge tubeless-ready tires can be mounted with or without inner tubes. When used tubeless, a liquid tire sealant is needed (Challenge's own SMART tubeless sealant recommended, but others can be used as well.) Challenge tires should not be mounted on wheels that don't meet ISO or ETRTO standards.
